How You Can Get Involved The Center for Economic Integrity gratefully accepts contributions to further our work. We are a non-profit organization certified as a 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service, so your contributions are tax deductible. Your gifts may be designated to support a particular SCEI Initiative, or can be made for general operating support. Either way your contributions will help us to promote ethical profits and achieve our overarching mission to "build economic strength by reinforcing fairness, understanding, and community action." Please send your gifts to: We have been fortunate to receive grant funding to date from the Arizona Social Change Fund, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Amazon Foundation, the National Economic Development and Law Center, the Marguerite Casey Foundation and the Wallace Foundation. In collaboration with the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness, our day labor initiative has received funding from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. In addition, SCEI's participation in the 2002 United Nations International Labor Organization conference was partially underwritten by the North American Association for Fair Employment. The balance of our funding comes from individual donors.
The Southwest Center for Economic Integrity seeks volunteers throughout Arizona and New Mexico to support our research, outreach, legislative and administration initiatives. Volunteer positions generally are on a project by project basis. Research Volunteers assist the research staff through conducting in-person and phone interviews with workers, consumers, and businesses; organizing and compiling information; and identifying effective research methods. Outreach Volunteers assist the outreach staff through meeting one-on-one and in small groups with workers, consumers, and businesses within the community who are involved in the day labor, predatory lending, and other industries. Legislative Volunteers assist all staff in tracking legislation pertinent to the day labor, predatory lending, and other industries, as well as conducting research on local, regional, and national legislative action. Special Events Volunteers assist with all facets of event logistics. The Center sponsors several special events per year .
